Its fragrance is very distinguishable and potent because for every single drop more than 3,000 petals have been steam distilled.
The petals of the Bulgarian rose (Damask rose, or Rosa Damascena) contain fragrant oils which are freshest in the early hours of the morning when they are harvested by hand. The aroma of rose oil is deep, sweet and floral with complex undertones.
Rose oil’s uplifting fragrance blends well with floral scents and is frequently combined with jasmine. It goes well also with bergamot (Citrus aurantium bergamia), black pepper (Piper nigrum), sandalwood (Santalum album), vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata), or patchouli (Pogostemon cablin).
It’s rather easy to make your own memorable rose otto perfume.
Ingredients list for your perfume
½ cup rubbing alcohol
l30 drops of rose essential oil
20 drops of sandalwood oil
15 drops of bergamot oil
4 oz amber glass spray bottle
Directions:
Use a glass spray bottle. Drop-in all the essential oils carefully. Mix them with a glass rod and leave to rest for 3 – 5 days. This process is called ‘melding’ and it helps the scents to synergize.
Now add in the alcohol, and shake vigorously. This will emulsify the essential oil droplets and create a perfect liquid.
The smell of alcohol will be noticed so that’s why you will have to allow the perfume to rest for 1 – 2 months in a cool, dark place. During this period the scents of the oils will mature.
Even though you will be impatient to check out your rose perfume you should wait at least 4 weeks before opening it. After the waiting time has passed you can really enjoy your own new perfume!
This recipe is 100% natural and free of synthetic toxins. If you keep it in a clean and dry place without direct sunlight it can last up to 2 years. Apply as a perfume with a spray bottle.

This recipe includes highly concentrated essentials oils some of which may contain allergens, so before starting you should test for any allergic reaction. Apply one drop on the elbow dart area and wait 48 hours before using oils. Your products must be clean and free of germs, bacteria, and microbes. Be sure to keep your workspace clean. Before making any cosmetic product wash your hands with warm water. Using gloves is preferable. Make sure to properly sanitize your dishes before using, with common methods such as alcohol or bleach disinfection.
